Raymond Reichwein

Medical Director, Penn State Health

Dr. Raymond Reichwein is a Board Certified Vascular Stroke Neurologist balancing multiple vital roles within Penn State Health; Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.  Dr. Reichwein graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1987 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Premedicine.  He continued his medicine studies at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania followed by residency at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.  Fellowship in Neurophysiology concluded in 1997.  Currently, Dr. Reichwein is a Professor of Neurology and the Stroke Division Chief.  Dr. Reichwein is also the Comprehensive Stroke Center Director and Telestroke Director.  He is the Vice-Chief of Medical Staff at the Penn State Hershey Rehabilitation Hospital and Stroke Program Director while also holding the role as Medical Director for the Coumadin Clinic.  Dr. Reichwein recently concluded his role as the Capital Regional AHA/ASA Board President while receiving Neurology Faculty Teaching Professor of the Year 6 times during his tenure.  Dr. Reichwein’s vested interest in research is evident in participation the RESPECT-ESUS and MaRISS clinical trials.
