Mental Health and Substance Abuse Department Director, La Clinica Del Pueblo

Jose Segura, LICSW, LCSW-C is the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Department Director at La Clinica Del Pueblo (LCDP). Today he is responsible for the day-to-day operation of our substance abuse program, the Behavioral Integration Program, the telemental Health and tele-psychiatric program and the North Western HS School Based Program. He is also a Seminar Instructor at the School of Social Services at Catholic University of America where he trains first year Master’s social work students. Segura earned his Master’s in Social Work from Howard University and he was a recipient of a one-year Post-Masters Clinical Fellowship from the Yale University Child Study Center in New Haven, Connecticut and he was also a recipient of a Full Scholarship for the Agency for International Development in 1988. He is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). He has presented in different workshops. Most recently he presented at the NASW-2016 National conference, the Annual Commonweal Foundation Conference; the Annie E. Casey Foundation workshop on Therapeutic Models for Healing Depression among Displaced Youth of Color; the Legacy of Advocacy at Howard University; the Suicide Prevention and Mental Wellness at the Crisis Link conference and at the Many Faces of Fairfax Diversity Conference.

He also holds a certificate program on Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy from the Washington School of Psychiatry in Washington, DC.
